STATEMENT OF PURPOSES 1. To promote Australian artistic culture by developing and presenting outstanding, contemporary works for theatre that cross formalistic boundaries and that are sustained by a dedicated intellectual rigour; 2. To create a diverse and inclusive theatre in Melbourne, that actively embodies the principals of cross-racial casting, and ideals of racial and gender equity; 3. To uphold a rigorous policy of inclusiveness in both the creation of theatre, and in the company’s governance; 4. To encourage the cross-pollination of creative practice in Melbourne, with an extensive ensemble of satellite artists, from diverse disciplines and backgrounds; 5. To bring together, and showcase work from all art forms and media and encourage new, interdisciplinary collaborations; 6. To promote the theatrical form to as wide an audience as possible and to cultivate audiences of diverse racial and cultural backgrounds; 7. To encourage and facilitate the professional and creative development of new and emerging artists.
